Dear Vega ISD Community,
We hope you are enjoying the summer and the warm weather. We have been very thankful for the rain we have received over the past week.
Our district is part of the Pantex Strike Net weather station network that measures rainfall along with other weather data such as temperature, humidity, wind, rain, and pressure. The sensor is located on the roof of the high school campus. You can download the app and have this information at your fingertips. Find the Strike Net app in your App Store and have this information readily available to you as well.
The Varsity Cheerleaders won the Herkie award at the Texas Tech NCA Camp last week and did a really good job getting ready for next school year. They have been making posters and banners already to get everyone in the school spirit for the upcoming school year. Our junior high cheerleaders just completed their cheer camp as well and worked with a WTAMU cheerleader. Be sure to check the district calendar for information related to summer activities including sports camps and summer strength and conditioning.
Next week will be the summer EOC re-tests for any high school student who did not pass their EOC STAAR tests.
Vega ISD is accepting transfer students throughout the summer for the 2024-2025 school year. Check out our transfer landing page on the district’s website that talks about our school and how to apply for a transfer. Please note that to be eligible to be accepted as a transfer student to Vega ISD, all students must be in good standing with their current school district, have good attendance, and have no discipline issues. If you feel comfortable doing so, please “like” the social media posts and share them on your own social media pages. If you need any help in doing this, please reach out to our office. We would be glad to help.
As always, if you have any questions or if we can help in any way, please reach out to your campus principal or to my office.
Thank you,
Jerry Adams
Superintendent
