Dear Vega ISD Community:
Happy New Year from Vega ISD! We are thrilled to have our students and staff back on campus this week and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed some rest.
Over the break both of our boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Lubbock to compete in the annual Caprock Holiday Basketball Tournament. Both of our teams did their best and competed against different teams and were able to play at different locations and environments. Congratulations to our girls basketball team who won the consolation bracket championship.
Our Ag Mechanics students have been working hard on their projects preparing for the upcoming Ag Mech shows across the state. We are looking forward to seeing their finished products.
As the Spring semester begins, our students will be involved in many activities keeping themselves, their teachers, and their parents very busy. The first of these involved the district’s career fair on Tuesday of this week where our high school students were able to visit 32 different tables in the gym with representatives from different businesses, military, and colleges to help our students understand what opportunities they have after high school. This was such a well planned and well attended event. We certainly appreciate the fantastic support provided from our community.
